Most adult specimens of the Doritifera sp.(genus) observed in SE Australia seem to be described as D. quadriguttata even though many only show 2 dark spots rather than 4 on each forewing., see the ALA. However, adults of D. casta may also show 4 dark spots on each forewing., see LBH.. However the larvae of these two species are markedly different.

I reared plenty of D. casta in Sydney. I think the variability of the adults of each of D. quadriguttata and D. casta exceeds the differences between the species adults.
