Late afternoon, about 5 pm: I heard the echidna coming down to the dam, rustling through the leaves and twigs; I was worried it was going to get bogged in the soft mud next to the water, but it was fine. Photo is a bit distant, but I wasn't game to move closer and risk disturbing it: it was there for about 2 minutes. It was a special moment.
