Thanks Don and Ian what are the key distinguishing features between Synemon collecta and S. plana?

The forewing pattern shows a streaked pattern distinctly different from S. plana . Hindwing looks more orange than yellow i suspect. One other only record in ACT and region on CNM. This may be the first record for the ACT strictly speaking. There are no records on iNaturalist or the ALA for Canberra/ACT and Bold Systems 4 that I can see given it has a more northerly distribution in northern NSW and Queensland. Glenn Cocking would be able to confirm or otherwise whether there are set specimen records held by ANIC for Canberra or the ACT.

Thanks Ian - I'm pretty sure that Suzi Bond told me about another site on the Murrumbidgee, within the ACT in similar habitat to this site

Yes, I have a couple of specimens from near the Murrumbidgee River a few years ago. Have also seen it flying beside the Monaro Hwy in the Royalla area in late Novemeber a few years ago, a few km far from the site of last year's report. I looked there just under two weeks ago without luck, possible too early.

Hi everyone, I am currently working on a paper on the Synemon collecta species group. It would be great if you were willing to share your observations concerning locality (even if just very general). Either way, it is great to see that this species is still present in the ACT.
