I assume from the retained skirt of dead leaves that this one is Dicksonia antarctica, which is more drought sensitive than Cyathea australis. I think we might lose all of the ones in our gully on the coast from this drought - we'd already lost a few in the 2002-09 drought. They look way worse than this one, totally brown!

Even in good times, D. antarctica has the skirt of dead fronds. Also the overall frond shape in convex, another fraily reliable indicator.
