Thanks for the ID, could you explain what the difference is between your ID and mine? I thought they were scaly buttons because of the scaly pattern at the base - see pic 2.
Sorry. I did not notice photo 2, which does appear to be a different species, probably Scaly Buttons. Could you delete it from this sighting and upload it as a new sighting please. The main difference between the genera Leptorhynchos and Coronidium is that Leptorhynchos has no bracts around the flower head and Coronidium has obvious bracts. In the case of oxylepis the bracts are turned down so not as obvious as in the other species of Coronidium, which do look like paper daisies.
I should not moderate late at night. On a second look, these plants do not have the obvious bracts of Coronidium. The plant in photos 1 and 3 however is atypical for Leptorhynchos. One of the Michaels, could you have a look at this please.
