User's notes

I've had my Rosella box out for years with no usage so I moved it a few weeks ago. I noticed this morning it had fallen down, and peered in to find what I think are possum droppings. The front of the box was scratched with a bit of golden fur caught in the rough wood. Not my target inhabitant but better than nothing so I cleaned the box and reinstalled it, now better secured so should be able to handle a possum's weight

We had "official" size possum and crimson rosella boxes very close together in our garden, but found the possums often preferred the much smaller rosella box, which was a very tight squeeze for them indeed...

BTP prey on birds nests. Might be worth considering whether its worth possum proofing, e.g with a collar above and below the box.

I haven't had a bird anywhere near it and now it is out of action because the wood has expanded and the lid no longer fits 😓
