To tell solanderi from retrorsum, you need a photo of the back of a flower showing the sepals clearly. Also the flower stalks in solanderi have hairs that are usually spreading and never pointing backwards or appressed, while those of retrorsum have hairs that are backward pointing (retrorse - hence the name retrorsum) and appressed.
