Took 4 visits to get a decent photo. First seen slipping into the water at same spot last Wednesday but not seen again. Went back on Tuesday and it was swimming up and down the other side of the creek. Standing looking upstream where I'd last seen it, but turned round just in time to see it disappearing under a grass tussock and movement of the ground as it dug further in; just a metre away - same place as first seen. Suspect this is its burrow. Today, spotted it swimming across the creek towards me, but perhaps seeing me kept swimming back & forth as if deciding to continue to this side or retreat, which it did. Sat on a mud tussock then leapt up and into the water; swam upstream and must have crossed over as I saw it skim past the back of the reeds near me but it didn't come out of the water.
