It was about 25mm so I couldn't decide which category to go with. It was a bit on the smaller side though so I have changed it to 12-25mm.

I'm suggesting Cleridae, although I don't know any local species of that family that are this large and all-black (except for the abdomen). I will have to see an actual specimen of it.
