Perenniporia ochroleuca seems a plausible candidate (see https://canberra.naturemapr.org/Community/Species/Sightings/6095 ). Did you see what the underside was like?

This species, Pycnoporus coccineus, has had a name change (as per Index Fungorum) to Trametes coccinea.

Pam - Oh well, a couple of those red/orange polypores were in Trametes before. I'll have to modify my species' notes. Bummer!
