User's notes
After crossing the track, this echidna went to ground as I approached. It was then I noticed a bit of pink drinking straw stuck on one of its quills. I tried removing it thinking just another bit of plastic getting in the way of wildlife, but I couldn't budge it. At all. It was then I thought maybe it is a deliberate marker for this individual for tracking purposes. If so, the straw was over the right shoulder.
