The shiny non-hairy leaves and sparse prickles suggest that this is unlikely to be Solanum cinereum. What were the backs of the leaves like? In Solanum cinereum leaves the lower surface is white or pale yellow and densely hairy .if this is not so, it will have to be IDd from scratch, which requires both flowers and ripe fruit.

Betty thanks, I have updated this sighting with a photo of top and underside of leaf. No fruit yet.
