Are the leaves aromatic when you rub them? My guess is Melaleuca parvistaminea or a narrow leaved form of Kunzea ericoides.

@waltraud, is it possible for this plant to be relocated at some point and take more photos, (preferably of old seed capsules to eliminate Kunzea), or a sample. I agree with Betty but it would be good just to make sure :).
