sorry only photo of this bee it moved very fast and did not settle, do not know what type of flower it was on they were planted by the Zoo near the pond at Fern Gully.
Can you estimate the length of the bee? She looks like a member of the M. (Eutricharaea) subgenus but the absence of orange hair on the face makes me think it may be a different species - a smaller one.
It was quite a bit smaller than a European Honey bee it was about 10mm and it was very active and did not hang around long and it did not land on the flower.
