Few records of this species from the ACT

User's notes

Suzi, this skipper was flying around the canopy of the tall Eucalypts at the summit of Black Mountain and also perching. I haven't seen a skipper behave in this way before, so I really have no idea what this is. The photos look like Heath Ochre or Montane Ochre, but I have only ever seen them close to the ground. Hoping there is enough detail in these five blurry photos to make a positive ID.

Great set of photos for id, thanks Matt. There is a nearby breeding site to the BM summit so great you managed to find an adult hilltopping, very nice record thanks.
