What was the bark like?
I does not quite fit Leptospermum emarginatum, the only Leptopermum in my key to plants of SE NSW with the right shaped deep nuts with flattish tops. https://keys.lucidcentral.org/keys/v3/plants_se_nsw/key/plants_se_nsw/Media/Html/entities/leptospermum_emarginatum.htm

Oops. I am so used to Leptospermum multicaule losing its nuts quickly that I did not consider it first time round.
