Common on woodchips in many countries. Moved to the genus Leratiomyces in 2008. In older sources you can find information about it under the name Stropharia aurantiaca. Often turns up in large numbers.

Heino I put this down as a common native, though it appears that its origin is unknown, should I consider it an exotic?

Hi Tim. This is our first report of this species, and as I did before, I got a copy of the photo and cropped it for use in the sample photo of the species. See http://canberranaturemap.org/Community/Species/14707. Thanks for the photos.

Michael, I don't know. It may just be one of those species that was naturally widespread, long before humans started spreading species. There'd be a number of similar species, of 'unknown origin' status.
