Animal struck defensive pose of head down - bum up ! first time have seen cockroach do this !?

Yes, some species cockroaches do this posture for defence. The Guide to Cockroaches of Australia by David Rentz has some great photos of this. I’ll try and ID your beastie. Do you have any side on photos? Cockroaches can be hard to ID from photos. I look for colour, the spinal pattern on the legs, the wings/tegmites/sternites (so top view), head and finally the abdomen. I’m still learning! Some species can only be identified by examining the genitalia, which can’t be done from photos! Sandra
