Unfortunately brown is a very common colour in fungi and smooth caps are also very common, so this photo doesn’t contain much information. In some cases of this sort, a view of stem and what’s on the underside of the cap might help. Did you notice what was on the underside of the cap?

Cannot comment on underside but now know to take this sort of photo next time. Any tips on how to do that without picking it. Or can I pick it then replant after the photo without killing it?
