A group of 5-6 large trees on the rhs of Bellenden St (left off the Barton Highway). Possibly planted there in times of the Crace estate?.

I believe this is Eucalyptus macarthurii not aggregata. A colleague from CSIRO germinated the seed and the juvenile leaves are not consistent with aggregata, they "had very wide opposite juvenile leaves" like macarthurii.

I had another look at the trees I used in the original identification. The young growth (juvenile leaves?) on these trees do not have the opposite arrangement and deltoid shape that distinguish E. macarthurii from other species like E. aggregata. I wonder if this feature is only evident in the seedlings ?
The very rough bark of these trees on Bellenden St certainly is more like the photos I've seen of E. macarthurii
