User's notes

These daisies are growing on a damp river bank scattered through Hypericum japonicum. The bank is just above normal river level and would go under when the river rises. This fits with the habitat described in Vicflora

Do you have a photo that clearly shows that the flower stalks are hairless? When I blow up photo 1, I get the impression that the middle of the flower stalk is hairy, which would make it Lagenophora stipitata.

Hi Betty
I went back to the original RAW images that are more amenable to magnification. The best clear image shows a bit more than the bottom half of the stem and I am confident there are no hairs. Another of less quality shows the upper half. When magnification is pushed it appears a bit rough but not hairy. I will make sure I get some future definitive shots but that is now likely to be next summer. To be fully confident I am OK with deleting this sighting and resubmitting later

As long as there are field notes I am happy. Some photos showing the lack of the hairs on the stems, that sighting mentionig this one would be good.

That sounds good. These shots were in the field where I like to work but it is more difficult to get focus and depths of field just right especially in close ups. Sometimes I take a sample back to my bench where it can all be better controlled. I will aim to do that next summer with a sighting referring back to this one.
