the leaves are wrong for Aptenia. I think we need a succulent fancier on this. There are lots it might be.

Leaves opposite, 4-5cm long, triangular cross section with stem-side face concave. Petals same colour top and bottom. I would say Carpobrotus species which come from South Africa, Australia and South America.

Garden waste. There is a garden of it nearby. Why do people dump their rubbish in the reserves ? Plant has been removed.

Plantnet states that Carpobrotus aequilateralis ‘petals’ shade to paler towards the base. Vicflora states that they often do this, but do not have to, and the photos in Vicflora show unshaded ‘petals’.
