Giant Blue Robber Fly. Quite skittish. Had to use zoom to take the photo from about 1.5 m away. Only photo I got. I initially though the side showed parasites, but have seen side view photos and that seems to be part of the body.
Photo taken in my backyard, within 150m of given location.
