Stuart Harris said this "spider has not been described yet, to my knowledge. I would say it would belong to the sub family of euphryinae (family salticidae) so a relative of Maratus, Jotus, Lycidas etc.
I have found it in dry woodland all up the east coast and some way inland; so have others. I call it affectionately 'Yosemite Sam' cos of it conspicuous pedipalps (moustache), or sometimes 'Boonie'."
