interesting red banding on some, but not all of flower buds.Sorry about the picture quality, the wind was very strong

Could it be Lissanthe strigosa subsp. subulata? The photo is somewhat blurry but cannot see any hairs on the flowers.

Possibly. Though the flowers appear to be evenly paired and all hanging down, which strongly suggests Leucopogon fletcheri.

I have taken more photos which are a bit clearer. There was only the one plant and the red colouring was only on flowers on one side of the bush. Maybe there is something unusual in the soil or the dry weather has caused the effect or else it is just a 'sport'

Nice find it is very unusual. It was hard to investigate as I didn't have gloves on but there are appears to be three separate shrubs the middle one with the red tips and two white ones either side.very close together.
