On a leaning post that also produced http://canberra.naturemapr.org/Community/Sightings/Details/3378765. Photo 2 shows a spore-filled ascus and, to its right, two loose spores. In Photo 3 there are 4 images of the colourless spores in colourless potassium hydroxide solution and two images in which the red stain phloxine has been added. Phloxine stains cell contents but not cell walls. At the upper right you see all of one spore and most of a second, with the contents of each cell in each spore showing clearly. At the lower right is a spore-filled ascus. Note that the ascus wall has not been stained, but shows as a colourless sheath around the pigmented area.
