I'm not willing to call this. Perhaps a cuckoo of some sort but who knows

Hi Steve, I and others are having trouble with the id on this image. Do you by any chance have any further images of this bird. So far the possibilities are Olive Whistler, Lewins Honeyeater or White-eared Honeyeater but not confident with any of the suggestions. Given location I am leaning towards White-eared Honeyeater. Hi Chris. I don't believe it is a white-eared even though they are common in the area this time of year. I've attached another image using light filtering to assist ....

Hi Guys,
Olive Whistler can be ruled out by the bill shape (downcurved to sharp point). Being a photographer, I know in even such a bad photo the white ear patch of a White-eared HE would be definitely distinguishable, and I would suspect the same for a Lewin's which I can see no trace of here. Not to mention the unlikelihood of encountering a Olive Whistler or a Lewin's HE in the dry scrub along the edge of the Murrumbidgee at pine island. If we are going the honeyeater route I suggest Yellow-faced which of the honeyeaters fit the physical features visible the best and is also most likely, I was hesitant to suggest as such given the squarish head but that could be the angle.

Ryu and Chris. I can confirm honey eaters were and are in the area

I still stand by my ID suggestion, but since we can't settle on an ID for this and it really isn't feasible to be certain of an ID from this image anyway regardless of which of the suggestions we go with, I will be marking this as inconclusive. See comments above for all suggested IDs.
