Exarna is in a different sub-tribe (Aretzina) to Phaulacridium (Perbillana). Among several differences are the pattern of sutures on the pronotum, the shape of the prosternal process and male furculae as well as overall general appearance. It is quite common in heathy areas of Black Mountain and elswhere.
