What is going on - is it sex or storing for food?

The larder of food stored behind the female is a food bank for harsher times. Th smaller spiders in the top of the main image are the males and they are just waiting a chance to mate and freeloading on any food caught in the females web. The female will shortly produce a fluffy golden egg sac, hidden in leaves next to the web. She will die soon after producing the sac.
