There is a moth genus in the Lasiocampidae called Symphyta, but these belong to the suborder of Hymenoptera of the same name. They are sawfly larvae.

I currently have one or two dozen of these on one of my v young cypress pines in my front garden in Red Hill, ACT. March 2020
