Passing on some follow up info from Allen Sundholm from today ............" I can now advise that I consider that the record of Castiarina maculicollis in Canberra a few years ago is a valid record. There was some doubt at the time as it had never been recorded in NSW before, only in SE QLD. Perhaps an accidental introduction. However, a friend of mine got one high up on a flowering Angophora near Mendooran (north east of Dubbo) last week. So the Canberra record now sounds very convincing, not an introduction.
