Was this flower on a grass like tuft of leaves or a twining stem?

I cannot see the stems either. Were the flower petals 10-19 mm long (Thysanotus tuberosus) or 8-11 mm long (Thysanotus patersonii)?

My apologies. It was definitely not twining. Had it been twining I would have taken a photograph of it. Therefore I thought it was Thysanotus tuberosus.

However the gps information associated with this image is incorrect as it was definitely not taken near the Kings Highway as shown.
