I'm not sure what this plant is. I haven't noticed Calotis lappulacea without the typically rounded yellow flower head or spiny fruiting head. Also, the leaves I have seen are more often toothed.

Definitely not Calotis, which is a burr daisy. The developing seeds of this plant are going to be like dandelion fluff.
