No idea. If you kept the plants, you could take them into the Botanic Gardens for ID.

I think this will be one of the tiny button-Asteraceae - difficult to ID from a photo.

They sort of look like Chthonocephalus pseudovax, from western NSW, though with far too few leaves. Another possibility is the local Isoetopsis graminifolia, but the hairs around the inflorescence in that species are stiff.

Actinobole uliginosum is from western NSW. Probably unlikely, but the closest match that I could get from the images given their quality.

Looks like a match for Rutidosis multiflora! Dave Mallinson and I picked up specimens of this from Broadway TSR near Dalton a decade ago or more. There is a specimen at the National Herbarium. See: http://plantnet.rbgsyd.nsw.gov.au/cgi-bin/NSWfl.pl?page=nswfl&lvl=sp&name=Rutidosis~multiflora

Plantnet has not updated the name from Rutidosis to Siloxerus.

Thanks Betty. Yep, I did know that there has been a taxonomic update, but I couldn’t remember it’s name!

I’d suggest Greg compares his specimen with the Herbarium sheer before confirmation. That will make it an ACT first, I’d say!

This is unequivocally Siloxerus multiflorus. We recently saw this again not too far from Canberra at The Rock Nature Reserve south of Wagga Wagga on our Friends of Grasslands trip (28 September, 2020).
