Maybe I need a refresher but this looks like fireweed to me.

Agree - see the stem clasping leaves with well spaced toothed margin. Leave size right. Petal number in correct number range. If around 20 bracts too - confirmed. Remove before seeding and map treatment site on Collector app Treated Weeds please.

It is essential that you count the bracts. The only obvious diferrence between it and some forms of Senecio pinnatifolius (var. alpinus in the ACT) is the number of bracts around the flower head. http://keyserver.lucidcentral.org/weeds/data/media/Html/senecio_madagascariensis.htm

Found another one when I went back to get a close-up and count. Thirteen ray florets (petals) and 21 green bracts.

Two plants removed. Had not reached seed stage. Reported on Collector so the site can be monitored.
