New reported location for this rare orchid. Around 80% of all Atlas of Living Australia records for this orchid are from the ACT

User's notes

Possibly Caladenia atrovespa. Other orchid species at same location. Hymenochilis (in flower), Oligochaetochilus? (not in flower), Thelymitra (not in flower)

Not certain but I think C. atrovespa, which tends to have a whitish central area to the labellum, and sometimes with more than 5 greenish teeth.

This area has a high orchid abundance and diversity. Strange as it is a very disturbed site. A few sites within the adjacent area also has other orchids yet to flower

Not an area I know particularly well. Interesting that orchids do often colonise disturbed areas. I was out at a private property today near Braidwood which had been cleared and grazed by goats but when the goats were removed some 20 years ago and the land allowed to revert to bush it now has over 40 species of orchid.
