Had a few of these in the house i lived in Stirling weston creek. I moved out as i feared they would hurt my baby boy.

They do have a sting but shy away from people so would only had been a problem if your son sought them out and tried to handle or step on them. Thanks for the postings.

As with the other two sightings of S. morsitans currently, this is Cormocephalus aurantiipes

In Scolopendra species the cephalic plate overlaps with the first body segment, in Cormocephalus it does not. As a faster but somewhat less accurate method of ID the C. aurantiipes in the region nearly always have this colour scheme
