Unidentified mushroom cluster at Palmerville Heritage Park close to Ginnindera Creek.

This species may bring on severe vomiting, diarrhoea and stomach cramps and so merits the name Poison pie, even though it falls well below the Deathcap in its effects. I know of one case of Hebeloma crustuliniforme poisoning in Canberra, perhaps a decade ago. The victim was hospitalized but recovered fully. When I spoke to him after his recovery he told me that he had been convinced he was going to die and that he hoped never to go through that experience again.

I'm not that familiar with fungi but am slowly learning. I do find them fascinating though. They make great photo subjects.
