Thanks Michael
are some about 20m tall E. aggregata, perhaps these were planted with the Blue gums some of which are quite big too.

Waltruad it should have clicked with me earlier, but Eucalyptus aggregata is a nationally threatened species, with only 16 plants known in the wild in the ACT, and a national population of about 10,000 mature trees. I know that between 1940 and 1980 the Yarralumla Nursery raised 13,000 Black Gum seedlings and it has been planted as a street tree in Lyneham, Phillip Kambah, Farrer, Mitchell and the ANU. However given that the Majura plantation is self seeding it is actually an example of a successful translocation of this threatened eucalypt. Pyor's and Bank's Street tree book suggests that the seed source for the Yarralumla Nursery plants (and hence probably the Majura plants) was probably from near Braidwood. Would be good to meet and map full Majura population

Michael
I think they are restricted to the gully line south of Valour park.

Thanks Waltraud will have a look when I'm next out that way, I'm thinking of nominating the stand to the ACT Tree Register.

Hi Michael
we see recruitment at The Fair project site which I tend to remove.

An interesting one - I would be inclined to not remove the seedlings given the local and rare status of the plant even if it was introduced to the location @EmmaCook do you have a view?

Thanks Michael
I haven't heard from Emma as yet; so far senior ranger, Canberra Nature Park, and Tapirlord, CNM suggest not removing the recruits.
