This is a naturalised native species; the closest natural populations are in Victoria. I first saw it at this location on 15 January 2016: the plants appeared to have germinated after the 2014 fuel reduction burn from a soil seed store. Plants were still flowering on 2 April 2016. The population on Black Mountain was the first record of the species in the ACT; a specimen has been lodged in the Australian National Herbarium. All the plants (mature ones to seedlings 1-2 cm tall) were removed on 2 April 16 by the Friends of Black Mountain to help prevent further spread.
