maybe alpine everlasting as it looks different to the one which was IDed as Sticky everlasting

We really need a photo of the leaves to decide whether this is Xerochrysum subundulatum or Xerochrysum viscosum. On Wanniassa Hill it is much more likely to be the latter. Xerochrysum subundulatum is subalpine and normally occurs at over 1200 m in altitude.
