It's a good one. Commonly called blue devil. Lots on Farrer Ridge usually, but not in flower yet.

The Blue Devil, a perennial herb of grassy ecosystems, one of my favorites and definitely a good one. Great.

Ahhh great to know, thanks guys. It was a kind of striking plant - it really caught my attention. Waltraud do we have many of them on Mt Majura do you know? Is it common?

Aaron there are not many although they occur in grassy woodlands from north to the south on Mt Ainslie. Unfortunately the green soft leaves that appear in spring are grazed. We planted at The Fair and at the Majura paddock however those are protected with guards which I don't dare to take away because of the grazing. we hope at one stage to remove the guards as more set flower and seeds and hopefully produce babies. I took the photo shown in below link in summer 2013 at The Fair planting area https://www.flickr.com/photos/61627737@N03/14687719143/in/pool-1724897@N25

Thanks Waltraud, this is excellent to know. I'll keep an eye out for more of them. The work you guys are doing at The Fair is brilliant and making a huge difference...
