The second image is of a different individual and I noticed it didn't have the same markings. Are they both Common grass-blue and if so is it like a male-female difference?

Yep, they're both Common Grass-blues, and there is no underside difference between sexes. Females are a little larger than males, and males have more extensive blue on the upperside of the wings than females.
