Looks like Brunonia australis to me, from various online checks, but I am not an expert. Apparently, it is classified as a perennial herb.

Betty - JasonC could have noted that this plant is one of a small group being cultivated in the Seed Production Area at Greening Australia in Aranda! However, if CNM records plants growing at STEP in arboretum, then this isn't significantly different? Agree - lovely pic.
