The third photo shows leaves of a different plant, completely hiding the base of the Linaria, which would have five or so short stems with whorls of elliptical leaves probably yellowing by the time the flowers appear.

Thanks Mike, yes I agree as well, I noticed that, the shoot was actually coming out from under those leaves, not from within them. Yes good pick up.
