Wow totally awesome Richard.. Earlier than I expected. I'm keen to get out and look for more of these.

Richard, I've had reports previously of D. dendrobioides from the Molonglo River Reserve, although I havn't seen it myself. The fleshy looking folded leaves are consistent. Do you have any other information to confirm this as D. dendrobioides?

No other information unfortunately other than I reported one only 500 m away last year in very similar habitat. I can always pop out there today or tomorrow to get another pic of it flowering. It really is an incredible spot. Tony - how long would you expect an individual plant to flower for?

Hi Richard, I'm reasonably certain it is D. dendrobioides. I'm surprised that it is so advanced as the species does not normally flower until November. I saw good numbers on Mt Taylor and Tuggeranong Hill last year in mid/late November. If you are out that way later in the year and come across it in flower a photo would be good.

This has also prompted me to go and check on the Majura one to see where it's up to...

Are you confusing it with D. punctata Aaron?

No this one Tony, discovered by Michael Doherty last year: http://canberranaturemap.org/Community/Sightings/Details/28639
