Known issue affecting NatureMapr Data Collector mobile app

Hi NatureMapr Data Collector app users,

If you experience the following error when attempting to upload sightings from the NatureMapr Data Collector mobile app, please note the following known issue and suggesed workaround:

Known issue

You receive the "Unable to talk to NatureMapr web service" error message popup when attempting to upload sightings recorded within the app

Cause

This error can be caused by a change in session handling between older versions and the very latest version (6.3.1) of the app.

Workaround

  • Please ensure you are running the very latest version of the app (6.3.1)
  • From the Account screen in the app, please LOG OUT, then LOG IN again
  • Please re-attempt the upload of your sightings

This is a one-off issue and once you've performed a log out and fresh log in, the issue won't reoccur again in the future.

I had the same problem using the desktop version of the Web pages.
