Robber fly with yellow coloured 'beard' covering the rostrum, checkered abdomen and orange-coloured wings, reddish legs, apparently feeding on a captured native bee. Robber fly observed resting on a dead branch within a clump of Kunzea ericoides (1 ha. in area) on the lower slopes Rruce Ridge
