Agree with MarkH - this is a 'bug' (i.e. is in the Order Hemiptera), and I would think therein it is in the family Scutelleridae, subfamily Scutellerinae ('jewel bugs'). Best I can suggest as it could be in one of several similar-looking genera in that subfamily. Cheers, Allen M. Sundholm
