Interesting one. Needs checking for juvenile leaves. Next time I'm at Black Mountain I'll check the canopy for juvenile leaves and more buds. I've found parrots and rosellas sometimes drop buds and fruits of nearby species next to other species, and then it gets very confusing :)

Visited the site, and spotted some juvenile leaves re-sprouting on an upper branch. That solved this one. They were rounded to orbicular in shape. Also I checked the smooth side of the trunk and it was white powdery. This along with the ovoid buds in 7s, points to Eucalyptus mannifera subspecies praecox.
